 The RCIA process is just what you are looking for!
 
The Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the Catholic Church’s way of helping people understand the Church, welcoming new members and supporting Catholics in their return.

Participants are Inquirers, including those who have been baptized, those who have not been baptized, returning Catholics, sacramental sponsors, Team Members, and Catholics who want to learn more about their faith and practices. ALL ARE WELCOME!
 
RCIA is comprised of several dimensions.  You will learn about the Church, its history, Mass, Sacraments, Creed, traditions and so much more.  You will grow in knowledge and understanding of the Church Jesus Christ created for your spiritual journey.
 
RCIA will help you grow spiritually through the Catholic prayer life, sacramental life, community life and shared spiritual life.  Prayer, discernment, small group discussions and retreat experiences will help you integrate the presentation material and discern your spiritual journey.
 
RCIA will begin Tuesday, September 19, 2017
 With our weekly two-hour sessions, you will have a solid foundation to begin or improve your spiritual journey that God is calling you to.  You will want to continue learning and growing in Christ throughout your life long after you have finished your RCIA experience.

There are several roles in RCIA:
 
 INQUIRER
Inquirers want to know more about the Church, may intend to join as a community member, complete the initiation sacraments (i.e., Eucharist and Confirmation) or are returning to update their knowledge of the Catholic Church and renew their prayer life.
 
SPONSOR
A Sacramental Sponsor travels the RCIA journey with an Inquirer, supporting the person who is interested in the Church.  Most often a Sponsor is a friend or relative of an Inquirer; and sometimes a Team Member becomes an Inquirer’s Sponsor.  A Sponsor is an already fully initiated Catholic (i.e., has received Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) and is an active worshiper in the faith community
 
TEAM MEMBER
The RCIA Team is raised from St. Christopher community and fills many roles.  We are always looking for more and new people to give presentations, lead reflection groups, handle administrative details, prepare food for formation session breaks, join in weekly discussions and pray on a regular basis for Inquirers.  We also have experts from diocesan offices and other parishes in the Diocese of Columbus to present topics.
 
If you begin the RCIA process and discern that the Holy Spirit is not calling you to join the Catholic Church at this time, we will still hope that you remain with us for the rest of the RCIA year to continue learning more about Christ’s Church.
